Law Europe has recruited a new member in Cyprus. Eliades & Partners, located in Nicosia, is a distinguished commercial Law Firm. Founded in 1970, it gradually developed into a multi–disciplinary law, tax and business consultancy firm of local and international nature serving not only the local market but also the needs of the international business community.
New Chairman and Managers of Law Europe
Following the retirement of Rolf Karlsson after a very successful term of office of four years as Chairman of Law Europe, Daniel van der Mosen has been elected to succeed him. Daniel van der Mosen his a partner of Philippe & Partners of Brussels and Luxemburg. He said: 'I hope that I can serve Law Europe as Chairman as successfully as Rolf Karlsson.
At the AGM, Peter Wurtz, of Dahl, and Milan Chladek, of Czerwenka and Partner, were elected to serve as managers.

DMH Stallard win the 'Greatest Business Impact' Award for DMH Direct
DMH Stallard a Top 100 law firm based in London and the south east, member of Law Europe, has won the ‘Greatest Business Impact’ Award at the SORCE Conference for the development of online property portfolio management tool – DMH Direct. The SORCE Awards highlight the importance of using Intranet and Extranet solutions to connect organisations, people and knowledge. DMH Stallard were joined in the final by two other finalists, Croydon College and West London Mental Health. In delivering this award, the judges recognised the Firm’s innovative use of technology in delivering business value to clients through improved business processes and better communication. Dragomir si Asociatii team successfully assisted the National Employment Agency (Agentia Nationala de Ocupare a Fortei de Munca) for the conclusion, following a public procurement procedure, of the contract having as its object the acquisition of complex IT services serving the entire activity of the Agency. The contract, amounting EUR 20,000,000 was concluded by the Agency with a consortium constituted of two companies AMSBG Gmbh and AMSBG Co KG, both members of Siemens group. The legal services provided by Dragomir si Asociatii consisted of, inter alia, the preparation of the draft of the contract, legal assistance during the negotiations of each contractual clause, legal advice on specific matters specific for each type of IT services (such as identifying contractual mechanisms for each service, solving Intellectual Property issues related to the IT services, harmonization of the contractual clauses with the legal provisions on public procurement, review of the other related schedules and documents related to the contract).
Five attorneys at law joined Dragomir si Asociatii team last fall: Mr. Marian Nistor, who previously worked with KPMG and who has expertise in merger & acquisitions and in the corporate & commercial fields, Mr. Andrei Corcaci, who previously worked with Bulboaca si Asociatii and whose areas of expertise are financial & banking and real estate and Mrs Romina Nicula, Ms. Raluca Anghel and Ms. Sorina Hornet, all three being junior lawyers.

Our Swedish member Advokatfirman Delphi & Co. appointed "Overall Law Firm of the Year"
The international business magazine ACQ has ranked advisers in company transactions worldwide. Mainly, law firms, banks and accounting firms have been assessed.
In the assessment of Swedish actors, law firm Delphi has been appointed “Overall Law Firm of the Year”. The appointment is based on the fact that Delphi with high quality has taken part in a number of large and interesting international transactions. The firm’s revenue has also increased by 35 per cent during the year 2008, which is more than any other Swedish law firm. “I think the fact that the partner in charge takes an active part in the transactions, has been an important factor of the quality assessment”, says Per Berglöf, head of Delphi’s Corporate Finance group.
